Sometimes I love being Scottish, but

sometimes it pissed me off so much. My cousins Ian and Siobhan are having a baby. They’re naming her Saoirse. I’m quite mad. Frist of all. my name is KEIRNYN. It’s always misspelled, mispronounced, and butchered. At least Siobhan is a recognized name, as it’s one of the more popular gaelic names, as is Ian. But you never ever see the name Saoirse, and I understand that you don’t want your baby to be just another Ashley or Jennifer, but there will be days when that girl despises you for naming her Saoirse. Sometimes I’m mad at my mother for naming me Keirnyn, but other times I’m glad I wasn’t a Jessica or Sarah. I’m lucky to have a gender neutral name that reflects my family, but I’m not happy when I’m called Kiernan, Kristen, Kerian, Kernin. The girl will spend her life correcting people on pronounciation and spelling. It will piss her off. Trust me, I know.
